Artie Lorraine

Artie Lorraine is an artist from Treaty 1 Territory, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her greatest passion is, and has always been, acting. In acting we study truth, we expand our imaginations, and above all, we learn how to be human.

Artie graduated with a BAH in Theatre and Film from the University of Winnipeg, where she had the pleasure of performing as Hannah in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia, directed by Shelagh Carter and Don Armado, and in Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, directed by Rodrigo Beilfuss. During her time at the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS), Artie has had the privilege of working with many incredible artists, including Quincy Armorer, Nancy Benjamin, Brian Dooley, Rebecca Harper, Jessica B. Hill, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Alisa Palmer, Rose Plotek, and Tim Welham. It is at NTS where she had the honor of portraying Queen Margaret in Shakespeare’s Richard III, directed by Danielle Irvine, and Jane Eyre in Erin Shields’ adaptation of Jane Eyre, directed by Jillian Keiley.

Artie is a classically trained singer with a background in opera, folk, and musical theater styles. She has also trained in unarmed combat, rapier, and rapier companion (cloak and dagger).

Artie believes that through art we find purpose, we find joy, and we find understanding. She is excited to continue to create and explore as she leaves the halls of NTS and ventures into this incredible industry.
