Benan Ali

Benan Ali is a Sudanese-Canadian actor born in the United States and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Benan is incredibly excited to pursue his love for storytelling across as many mediums as possible – on stage, in front of the camera, and in the booth – and looks forward to his first few steps into the industry.
Benan has had the pleasure of working with great Canadian artists including Jessica B. Hill, Rodrigo Beilfuss, Leni Parker and Graeme Somerville. During his time at the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS), he had the great privilege to play the titular role of Khlestakov in a production of The Government Inspector directed by Krista Jackson. He also had a wonderful experience playing the roles of Clarence and Catesby in a production of Richard III directed by Danielle Irvine. Benan is also trained in stage combat, including unarmed, rapier, and cloak and dagger, under the guidance of Anita Nittoly.
Benan closes off his final year at NTS ready to sprint towards whatever projects he finds in his future with a collaborative and ambitious spirit. He yearns to continue to grow and learn, and to see what adventures this path has in store for him.
