Danika Royer

Danika Royer is an emerging Theatre Artist, from Scarborough Ontario. Predominately focusing on Production Management and Sound Design, she has found herself drawn to creation projects, and new Canadian Plays. As she moves through her final year at the National Theatre School of Canada’s Production Design and Technical Arts program, she smiles at the face of the unknown and readies herself for new adventures and challenges.

Through her time at the School, Danika has Production Managed, Technical Directed, Sound Designed, Video Designed and Stage Managed alongside the mentorship and collaboration of theatre artists across many different disciplines and backgrounds. Some notable mentions being Thomas Morgan Jones (Director, Yerma), Deanna H Choi (Sound Coach/Composer, Yerma), Andrea Lundy (PM Coach, Midsummer Night’s Dreame, Last Night I Dreamt), Amelia Scott ( Video Coach, Neverending Story) Jovanni Sy ( Director, Neverending Story), and Neha Ross (SM Coach, Macbeth, Cerberus).

Danika is reminded everyday that the work you do inside and for your community is what makes you human. She uses her art as a tool to build up the people around her and build the support structures for her better tomorrow. Through leadership and practical theatre she will continue to strive for interconnectivity and allyship of the marginalized communities in and around the Canadian Arts and Culture Sector.
