Daria Famili
A dynamic and committed multidisciplinary artist, Daria Famili graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada\’s set and costume design program in 2026. Her love of crafting, tinkering, and collaborative work is at the heart of her practice, which ranges from set design to the creation of props, masks, and puppets.
At NTS, Daria designed three sets 1, exploring minimalist concepts experimenting with large forms and movement. She worked the prop design for three shows, exploring 2 storytelling through objects. She designed multiple puppets and masks, experimenting with a variety of aesthetics.
Daria has experience in the film industry, having worked as a greens person under the tutelage of Claire Belisle, as well as serving as art director on two short films by Wondering Dumbo Productions. She has taken oil painting classes under the tutelage of Jacinta Ionno at the Lambda School of Fine Arts (2010-2021), where she refined her sense of detail and meticulousness.
Collaboration is essential to Daria\’s creative process. Known for her kindness, positive attitude, and great adaptability, she values her team and always seeks to create in a happy environment. Her rigour, sense of responsibility, and enthusiasm make her a valued and reliable creative partner.
Daria has had the pleasure and opportunity to be guided by mentors such as Ève-Lyne Dallaire, Angela Rassenti, Margarita Brodie, Pierre-Étienne Locas, Loïc Lacroix-Hoy, Cathia Pagotto, and Julie Vallée-Léger. With the support of Stéphane Longpré and Jill Thomson, Daria aspires to continue designing sets and props for theatre, the performing arts, and film. She looks to the future with a desire to join forces with co-creators and fully engage in inspiring artistic projects.
