Juliana Monk

Juliana Monk is an actress and dancer hailing from Victoria, BC. She is passionate about sharing honest, human stories and hopes to share vital stories through any and every medium, be it theatre or film, movement or voice.
During her time at the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS), Juliana has had the opportunity to hone her craft and learn from many acclaimed theatre practitioners, including Jessica B. Hill, Quincy Armorer, Alisa Palmer, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Marla McLean, Graeme Somerville, and many more. She is so grateful for these opportunities and is always looking to learn more about her craft. Recently, she played Maria in The Government Inspector, directed by Krista Jackson. Her time at NTS has shaped her as an artist, and she is looking forward to bringing that artistry past the walls of NTS and into the world. Selected film and TV credits include Cedar Cove (Hallmark), The Nanny: Mission Canada (ARD Degeto), and Love Under the Stars (Hallmark).
Trained in ballet (RAD), modern, contemporary, and jazz techniques, Juliana danced competitively before beginning her training at NTS and will be continuing her dance training post-graduation. Her movement background has led her to explore where movement and choreography intersect with theater; under the tutelage of Anita Nittoly, she has discovered a gift for stage combat and, upon graduation, hopes to also become a certified fight and intimacy director. She is interested in exploring how choreography can serve a story, be that through dance, movement, or combat.
Juliana deeply respects the multi-faceted and ever-changing craft of acting and learns something about her art and herself from every project. With her love for what she does at the forefront of her process, Juliana is determined to never stop learning!
