Nikola Masri

Nikola Masri is a trilingual actor (English, French, Bulgarian) whose work is driven by curiosity, instinct, and a deep love for transformation. Born in Bulgaria to a Bulgarian mother and a Lebanese father, Nikola’s multicultural roots continue to fuel his imagination and shape his approach to storytelling. Growing up in Montreal, a city alive with language, contradiction, and artistic hybridity, hasprofoundly influenced the artist he has become today; fluid between cultures, mediums, and identities.

He is currently training at the National Theatre School of Canada, where he has played Theseus and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Amanda Kellock, and most recently Juan in Yerma directed by Thomas Morgan Jones.

Before NTS, Nikola had already been working professionally since the age of 13, splitting his time between Montreal and Toronto in both French and English language projects. His screen credits include French Exit opposite Michelle Pfeiffer, Classé secret with Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin, and Ruptures, which earned him a Revelation of the Year nomination in 2020.

A proud chameleon, Nikola is a physical, instinct-driven, and versatile actor who favours bold choices, playful risk-taking, and a slightly mischievous approach to the work. He is trained in singing and dance, and carries a deep devotion to both theatre and film as spaces of imagination, danger, and delight.
