Rainbow Kester

Rainbow Kester is an Anishinaabe Canadian-American actor, playwright and director from Lake Temagami, ON; Home of her “Deep Water People.” Rainbow is a dreamer and a believer. Rainbow will infuse people’s lives with truth. 

Before the National Theatre School of Canada, Rainbow received her undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph in Theatre Studies where she had the honour of being mentored by Judith Thompson; In her final year she wrote and performed in her play Sun-dried Tomatoes and Radio Shows. Rainbow also performed in Corporate Finch by Taylor Graham at the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2023 and afterwards toured the performance to Stratford and Sault Saint Marie. While at NTS, Rainbow had the joy of playing Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Yerma in Federico Lorca’s Yerma, among others. At NTS, Rainbow is living her dream, being coached by inspiring artists including Ann-Marie MacDonald, Tim Welham, Graeme Somerville, Thomas Morgan Jones, and many others. 

Rainbow Kester is an overall athlete, playing a variety of sports all her life. She played on the Ventura College Varsity Volleyball team, swam at provincial competitions, and trained as a dancer in tap, jazz, and hip hop. 

Rainbow is drawn to the will and strength and relentless resiliency of people, of women, of love, of story. Rainbow is on a path of greatness.
