Sephora N’Kosi
Sephora N’Kosi (she/they) finds it hard to be contained within the jumble of a 100-word bio. She dances under many hats — such as queer, congolese, poet, designer and manager — but never ceases to prioritize kindness and openness in her work. Based in Toronto, she encourages visceral and honest stories through her writing and designs.
Though she maintains skills in Video Design, Sound Design, Technical Direction, and Carpentry, Sephora turns her focus and passion towards Lighting Design, Production Management, and Stage Management. Some of her most recent and favourite projects include: No Jumping (SM, 2026); The Neverending Story (PM, 2026); Yerma (LX Design, 2025); Sex Goddess (LX Design, 2025); Lucian, Plato, and the Secrets of the Pussy (LX Design, 2025); Very Shady Arab Ladies (LX Design & SM, 2025); Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. (LX Design, 2025).
In her studies at the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS) for Production Design and Technical Arts, Sephora has had the honour of gaining many mentors and teachers who continued to foster her love for collaboration and creativity across disciplines, such as Andy Moro (TD, VD, LX), Nick Blais (LX), Leigh Ann Vardy (LX), Daniel Bennett (PM), Andrea Lundy (PM, LX), Kathryn Westoll (SM), Crystal Laffoley (SM), Dean Fleming (Directing), and many more.
At 17, she earned her first Dora Mavor Award nomination with Théâtre Français de Toronto for playwrighting, before going on to write two poetry books the following year. After graduation, she plans to continue to create stories, whether it be as a writer, designer or manager.
