Stephie Mazunya

Born in Burundi and raised in Ottawa, Stephie Mazunya speaks French, English, and Kirundi fluently. At the National Theatre School of Canada, she had the chance to work on a vast theatrical repertoire with several renowned directors including Fréderic Dubois, Michel-Maxime Legault, Véronique Côté, Simon Lacroix, and Pierre Bernard, to name just a few.
In addition to her training at NTS, she has acting experience in both English and French, in productions such as Le Règne de Karugaju (directed by Diane Ntibarikure) and Makambe K. Simamba’s MUD (directed by John Collins) at the Ottawa Little Theatre. She has also been seen on television in 2018 in Vraiment Top!, a youth show produced by Xavier Hovitov for TFO.
In 2019, she will be on stage in a professional production of Soifs Matériaux directed by Stephanie Jasmin and Denis Marleau and presented at FTA and Espace Go, in The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe directed by Solène Paré and in 2020 she will be on stage in France in Notre Innocence by Wajdi Mouawad. Stephie is a multidisciplinary artist; she is equally interested in singing, writing, and translation.
